Listings
and the product graph.

One product record, many channel listings. Understanding this makes the rest of the platform predictable.

Product versus listing

The product is the thing you own: SKU, identifiers, dimensions, cost, stock. A listing is how one channel presents that product: category, channel attributes, price and channel policies. One product supports many listings, and the product stays the source of truth.

What the product owns

  • SKU — the key everything else joins on.
  • Identifiers such as EAN, GTIN or MPN.
  • Physical attributes: weight and dimensions, which decide carrier eligibility.
  • Cost and supplier links, used by purchasing and margin reporting.

What the listing owns

  • Channel category and its required attributes.
  • Channel price and currency.
  • Channel policies — returns, postage, handling time.
  • Submission state: pending, live, or rejected with the channel's reason.

Variants

Variants are separate products sharing a variation group. Each variant keeps its own SKU and its own stock; the group is what tells a channel to display them as one product page with options. Channels disagree on how variation is expressed, so the grouping lives in Huup and each channel renders it its own way.

Channel SKUs are not your SKUs. Where a channel issues its own identifier, Huup stores it as a related reference rather than overwriting your SKU. Your SKU stays the one you control.
