Parts only sell when the buyer can confirm they fit. Building that fitment list by hand is the slowest part of listing a catalogue, so Huup attaches it from a vehicle database instead.
Attaching compatibility
- Open the product and go to its compatibility tab.
- Search by vehicle, or by an OEM or aftermarket reference to pull the vehicles that reference already covers.
- Review the matched vehicles and remove anything that does not apply to your specific variant.
- Save. The fitment list is stored on the product, not on one channel's listing.
Publishing to eBay
When the listing publishes, the stored fitment list is exported in eBay Motors' compatibility format. Updating compatibility later republishes it — you do not rebuild the list per listing.
Equivalents widen coverage. Equivalent-part matching surfaces vehicles that reference an interchangeable part number. It regularly finds fitments a manual list would miss, which is where the extra sales come from.
Before you publish a large batch
- Spot-check a handful of parts against the manufacturer catalogue. A wrong fitment costs a return and a defect, so sampling is worth the minutes.
- Watch for variant traps — engine size, body style and build date ranges are where over-matching usually happens.
