● Accounting integration

Sage Accounting
in two steps.

Authorise your business in Sage. That is the whole setup. Completed orders post as sales invoices from then on.

● Under 5 minutes ● Sage OAuth 2.0 ● No API keys

Connect Sage in Huup

  1. Sign in to app.huup.com.
  2. Open Integrations → Accounting, click Add connection, pick Sage Accounting.
  3. Click Connect. You are sent to Sage to sign in.
  4. Choose the business to authorise and allow the requested access.
  5. Sage returns you to Huup and the connection is live. No keys to copy anywhere.
Nothing else to set up. While you are being returned, Huup reads your business country, VAT registration, tax rates and nominal ledger and works out which of your own rates and codes to use. You do not configure any of that by hand.

Check the first invoice

  1. The next order that completes in Huup posts to Sage as a sales invoice.
  2. Open it in Sage and check the line items and the tax rate look right for how you trade.
  3. If something is off, the common causes are below. Everything else runs on its own from here.

What posts after you connect

SalesSales invoices

Completed orders post as sales invoices with line items, quantities, unit prices, the contact and the mapped tax rate on each line.

ReturnsSales credit notes

Returns post as separate credit notes dated on the return, carrying the tax treatment of the original invoice.

ContactsCustomers

Buyers are matched to an existing Sage contact or created once, so the same person across two channels stays one record.

ProductsProducts

SKUs map to Sage products with their sales and purchase nominal codes. Stock items require Accounting Plus.

What Huup does not do

Common issues

Authorisation failed with invalid_grant

The Sage code expired or was already used. Codes live 60 seconds. Start the connection again from Huup rather than reloading the Sage consent page or reusing a bookmarked link.

Every invoice shows no VAT

Your Sage business is not registered for VAT, so Huup posts each line with no tax rather than charging a rate you have no right to charge. Turn VAT on in Sage, then click Refresh profile on the connection in Huup to read your tax rates again.

Stock is not updating in Sage

Stock items are an Accounting Plus feature. On Start and Standard the endpoint is not available to any app, Huup included. Your stock still lives in Huup, and invoices and credit notes post normally.

Zero-rated products are being taxed at the standard rate

Country defaults do not know that books, children’s clothing and most food are zero-rated in the UK. Set the tax rate on the product in Huup and it overrides the country default on every line for that SKU.

Duplicate contacts in Sage

Huup matches on the customer details it holds. If a buyer used two different email addresses across channels, they arrive as two people. Merge them in Sage and Huup follows the surviving contact.
