- Sign in to app.huup.com.

- Intuit returns you to Huup and the connection is live. No keys to copy anywhere.
Check the first invoice
- The next order that completes in Huup posts to QuickBooks as an invoice.
- Open it in QuickBooks and check the line items and the tax look right for how you trade.
- If something is off, the common causes are below. Everything else runs on its own from here.
What posts after you connect
Completed orders post as invoices with line items, quantities, unit prices, the customer and the mapped tax code on each line.
Returns post as separate credit memos dated on the return, carrying the tax treatment of the original invoice.
Buyers are matched to an existing QuickBooks customer or created once, so the same person across two channels stays one record.
SKUs map to QuickBooks items with their income and expense accounts, and quantity tracking where you use it.
What Huup does not do
- One direction only. Huup posts to QuickBooks. Invoices you edit in QuickBooks do not flow back into Huup.
- Payments are not applied. Huup raises the invoice; matching the payment against your bank feed stays in QuickBooks where it belongs.
- US sales tax is not calculated by Huup. That is deliberate. QuickBooks Automated Sales Tax knows your nexus and the local rates; duplicating that logic is how sellers end up filing the wrong number.
- No historical backfill on connect. Posting starts with the next order that completes.
Common issues
US invoices show no sales tax
Automated Sales Tax needs a complete customer shipping address and an active tax setup in QuickBooks. Check the address on the order is complete and that the company has finished the sales tax setup in QuickBooks, then re-post the invoice from Huup.
UK invoices are using the wrong VAT code
Huup matches your codes by the role they play rather than by name, so a code you renamed or added yourself can be read differently than you expect. Click Refresh profile on the connection to read your codes again, and email us if an invoice is still wrong.
Zero-rated products are being taxed at the standard rate
Country defaults do not know that books, children’s clothing and most food are zero-rated in the UK. Set the tax rate on the product in Huup and it overrides the country default on every line for that SKU.
The connection stopped working after a quiet period
Intuit refresh tokens last around 100 days and are rotated on each refresh. Huup refreshes on a schedule and again before each call, so this should not happen. If it does, click Reconnect on the connection and authorise again.
Duplicate customers in QuickBooks
Huup matches on the customer details it holds. If a buyer used two different email addresses across channels, they arrive as two people. Merge them in QuickBooks and Huup follows the surviving customer.
