Check your OTTO Market partner account

  1. Make sure you have an active OTTO Market partner account — OTTO requires a company registered in Germany or another approved EU country, a valid VAT ID, German-language customer service and shipping from a German or EU warehouse.
  2. Confirm your return warehouse address and return carrier (DHL, GLS or Hermes) are configured in OTTO Partner Connect under Shipping and Returns — OTTO generates customer return labels from these.
Not selling on OTTO yet? Apply at otto.market first. OTTO reviews every seller before granting marketplace access — Huup connects once your partner account is live.

Common issues

Product rejected: EAN not accepted

OTTO requires a globally unique EAN for every SKU and rejects EANs starting with 2 (in-house barcode range). Use the manufacturer's EAN.

Product stuck in "pending" after publish

OTTO validates products asynchronously in two stages. Huup tracks both and marks the listing live only when otto.de shows it ONLINE — allow up to a few hours for OTTO's content checks on first submission.

Brand not available

OTTO only accepts brands from its approved catalogue. If your brand is missing, request it via OTTO Partner Connect's brand creation process, then re-publish from Huup once approved.

Dispatch rejected: missing return tracking number

For parcel deliveries OTTO requires a German return-label tracking number (DHL, GLS or Hermes) at dispatch. Create the return label in your carrier account without printing it, and enter its tracking number in the Huup dispatch form — unused labels are free.

New orders have no customer address

Orders awaiting payment confirmation arrive without a delivery address — this is OTTO's ANNOUNCED state. The address appears when the order becomes processable; Huup holds dispatch until then.

Access revoked notice

If access was revoked in OTTO Partner Connect (Servicepartner → Zugriff entziehen), click Re-connect in Huup and authorise again.
